Jessica & Justin:
" She has an amazing creative eye, and will go the extra mile, and beyond, to ensure you love the final product. Not to mention, Kayla is a lovely person to work with and makes you feel so incredibly comfortable and beautiful."
"It was fun having her and made us feel very comfortable! We had a ton of fun and beautiful photos! I wouldn’t change a single thing about that day and I have all the memories and pictures to remind me."
Once you’ve decided I’m the photographer for you (eeek...I’m so honored!), I’ll send over a detailed Welcome Guide and questionnaire, along with my list of vendor recommendations. Then we’ll later schedule a 1-hour planning session to create a timeline, answer all your questions, and ensure I know exactly which shots matter most to you.
This is an optional but strongly recommended part of wedding packages ( not included with elopements but can be added on) for my local clients, I include a complementary engagement session with all wedding packages. Having an engagement session prior to the big day allows us to get to know each other as well as help you to get comfortable in front of the camera and feel as natural as possible on your actual day! Not to mention, your engagement photos are great for your Save the Date, your wedding website, and sharing on social media as you countdown to tying the knot!
I’ll arrive ready to go and am there to support you and your bridal party however needed. All you need to do is take everything in, remain present, and celebrate the fact that it’s your wedding day! I’m there to follow through on the timeline, fix your bouquet, track down the groomsmen, and be your calm through any chaos. Rest assured, your photos are in good hands!
After your day has come to an end and you’re hopefully off on your honeymoon, I’ll be working away to cull the best images, give them my signature Foxtails look & feel. I'll be sending out a sneak peek album within 72 hours of your wedding and have you thrilled with the final gallery in around 6-10 weeks .
The amount of pictures you recieve can vary depending on if there are miltiple locations to drive to and how much time is actually spent photographing. Ultimately, I deliver around 75-100 pictures an hour. Sometimes there is more sometimes it is a little more if everything runs smoothly and we are at a single location.
My ultimate goal is to have galleries delivered asap. Different times of year are busier than others though so at the beginning or during off season, I might be delivering a gallery in 2 weeks but during the busiest of the season it can be closer to 10 weeks.
I shoot solo mostly and occasionally have assistants to help me. I do offer packages with second photographers too!
I shoot Nikon and use their mirrorless cameras/ lenses. They are the most up to date with technology and provide the best quality. My favorite lens is the 85mm /1.8, I started using this morning during covid to keep my distance and absolutely love it! Next is the 35mm/1.8 or 70-200/2.8. Occasionally I shoot a little film for fun too!
As a natural light photographer, I try to always use as much natural light as possible. Having the newest and higher end gear helps too as it is made to shoot in darker lighting as well. When needed, I primarily shoot with on camera flash. On camera flash is nice as it is less set up time and then you don't have to worry about flashes set up around your reception. If a tent is being used, on camera flash is really all that is needed to create stunning imagery. I also recommend that if considering a dark venue versus a tent, the tent in a beutiful outdoor setting to always go with the tent! It provides a better experience for guests and couple for landscape and sunset, fresh air, and makes for some fabulous photography due to reflecting light off the top of the tent. Did I nerd out a little too much there? Haha!
I can relate to that feeling, which is why I hide behind the camera! Haha! But truthfully it has made me such a stronger photographer. Because I understand and am aware of how my clients feel, we work through directions and prompts rather than poses during sunset photos and such. This way you can be focused on something other than the camera and I can guide you to adjust with small movements or just angle myself a little different! To be honest, usually people aren't terrible in front of the camera, they just need someone who knows how to shoot different angles, direct, and help you to feel comfortable and confident!
