Paraiso De La Bonita Review

Why This Adults-Only All-Inclusive Near Cancun is Worth Every Penny

If you’ve been avoiding all-inclusive resorts because you’ve heard the food and drinks aren’t up to par — I was right there with you. I’m someone who craves freedom when I travel: finding local gems, wandering on my own schedule, doing things my way. But after three days at Paraiso De La Bonita, a Marriott Luxury Collection adults-only all-inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya, I’m here to tell you that some all-inclusives absolutely shatter that stereotype.

We had spent two incredible weeks Hopping around the Mexican Riviera, and Paraiso De La Bonita was our final stop before heading home. It turned out to be the perfect way to end the trip — deeply relaxing, culinarily surprising, and honestly one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever stayed at. I’m already dreaming of going back.

Below are mostly all film images but make sure to check out my instagram where I have some great video content too!

Where Is Paraiso De La Bonita Located?

Paraiso De La Bonita is located on the Riviera Maya, just a short drive from the Cancun International Airport — making it incredibly easy to get to, especially after a long flight. The road leading to the resort is a little rough, but honestly? It’s part of the charm. Once you turn in and catch your first glimpse of the property, all of that fades away.

Its proximity to Cancun also makes it a fantastic option for travelers who want the luxury of seclusion without a lengthy transfer. You can make it there quicker from the airport than to the party zone in Cancun!

Arrival & Check-In: The First Impressions That Set the Tone

We arrived a little early, so the team graciously took our bags and encouraged us to explore the property and grab some lunch while our room was being prepared. Far from feeling like an inconvenience, it was a lovely introduction to what makes Paraiso De La Bonita special — the staff genuinely take care of you from the moment you arrive.

When our room was ready, we were escorted to a private check-in suite where we were greeted with a crafted cocktail. This wasn’t a rushed transaction at a front desk — it was an experience. That attention to detail tells you everything you need to know about how this resort operates.

The Rooms at Paraiso De La Bonita: Intimate, Stunning & Thoughtfully Designed

One of the things I absolutely love about Paraiso De La Bonita is its size. With only around 45 rooms, this is not your sprawling mega-resort. Every single room comes with a view and a private balcony — no exceptions. That commitment to the guest experience sets it apart from most luxury properties.

Our room was approximately 1,000 square feet and absolutely breathtaking. The design blends modern luxury with subtle bohemian touches — think gorgeous natural light pouring through expansive windows, plush bedding, and beautiful craftsmanship throughout.

Waiting for us in the room: a chilled bottle of wine and a selection of snacks. We immediately took to the balcony, sipped our wine, and soaked in the view. It was one of those rare travel moments where you exhale fully and feel completely present.

Food, Wine & Mixology: The Reason to Reconsider All-Inclusives

Here’s the thing — I came in skeptical about all-inclusive dining. What I found at Paraiso De La Bonita completely changed my perspective. The cuisine was exceptional, the cocktails were creative and expertly made, and the mocktail program was a genuine highlight.

But the biggest surprise? The wine program. You don’t typically think of wine when you think of Mexico, but Paraiso De La Bonita celebrates Mexican wines beautifully. We attended a wine class during our stay, and it was fascinating — learning about the history of Mexican viticulture, the distinct growing regions, and getting to taste some incredible bottles we’d never heard of.

We had a wonderful sunset dinner on our first evening, and the food recommendations from the staff were spot-on every time. The staff always made sure our drinks were full without being intrusive — just that perfect level of attentive service. I also really appreciated the mocktail offerings. It’s such a treat to sip something beautifully crafted and interesting without it needing to be alcoholic.

Also LOVED doing room service for breakfast! So we never went out for breakfast at the restaurants and just enjoyed our room and balconies.

The Pools: Saltwater Serenity & Main Pool Relaxation

Paraiso De La Bonita has multiple pool options, and each one delivers a different vibe. On our second day, we planted ourselves by the saltwater pool — quieter, more serene, and perfect for those of us who prefer saltwater over chlorine. It was an incredibly peaceful spot to spend the day.

Our last day we moved to the main pool, which was equally enjoyable and had a little more social energy. Both pools are beautifully maintained and the surrounding loungers and cabanas are stunning. If you’ve stayed at comparable resorts in the area — I’ve been to the Belmond Maroma, which isn’t far — the pools at Paraiso De La Bonita are far superior. It’s one area where this resort truly outshines even its nearby competition.

The Beach, Wildlife & the Big Dock

During our visit, we had some unusually strong winds (a rare occurrence in this part of Mexico, even for those of us who visit multiple times a year), which made beach time a little less appealing. There was some seaweed on the shore as well, which is common in the Riviera Maya. We still enjoyed the views from the beach and I have no doubt that on a typical day it would be stunning.

One of the most fun parts of the resort for nature lovers: the wildlife. This area is home to crocodiles — which, yes, you want to be mindful of — but also to the most incredible array of birds ( I LOVE Pelicans), iguanas, and Coatis. The Coatis were an absolute delight. We spotted a whole group of them including babies, and it was one of those magical, unexpected travel moments.

The resort also features a gorgeous dock, and it’s not uncommon to find catamarans and yachts moored there, available to take guests out on the water. Due to the strong winds during our visit, we didn’t get to take advantage of this — but it is absolutely on my list for our return trip.

The Service, Atmosphere & Who This Resort Is Perfect For

The staff at Paraiso De La Bonita are exceptional. Because the property is so intimate, the team learns your name quickly and remembers your preferences. There’s something profoundly different about that kind of personalized attention — it elevates every interaction.

Being adults-only is a significant part of what makes the resort’s atmosphere so peaceful. And within that, the relatively small number of guests means it never feels crowded or noisy. During our stay, we met several lovely couples and a number of solo travelers — which I was thrilled to see. As someone who does a lot of solo travel myself, it was wonderful to connect with fellow solo adventurers and see that Paraiso De La Bonita is genuinely welcoming to guests traveling on their own.

This resort is an ideal destination for:

  • Honeymoons and romantic getaways
  • Anniversary celebrations
  • Bachelorette trips
  • Solo travelers seeking a safe, social, and luxurious environment
  • Anyone craving deep relaxation in a world-class setting

What’s Next: The Spa is Calling

One thing we didn’t get to experience during this trip — the spa. After three days of poolside relaxation and wine classes, we simply ran out of time. But I’ve heard wonderful things, and experiencing the Paraiso De La Bonita spa is absolutely at the top of my list for our next stay. Given the resort’s commitment to excellence in every other area, I have no doubt it will deliver.

Final Verdict: Paraiso De La Bonita Gets a 10/10

I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect to fall this hard for an all-inclusive resort. But Paraiso De La Bonita isn’t just an all-inclusive. It’s a meticulously curated luxury experience in one of the most naturally beautiful settings on the Riviera Maya.

Having compared it firsthand to the Belmond Maroma, I can confidently say that Paraiso De La Bonita won my heart. The pools are better, the intimacy is unmatched, the staff are extraordinary, and the overall experience is simply special.

If you’re looking for a luxury escape near Cancun — whether for a honeymoon, an anniversary, a solo retreat, or simply a trip to remember — Paraiso De La Bonita belongs at the very top of your list. I can’t wait to go back.
