Destination Elopement at The Wedding Tree
This Jackson Hole, Wyoming elopement at The Wedding Tree was the perfect fall destination elopement. Brooklyn and Frankie are from Alabama and they met the old school way, through mutual friends! I loved hearing all the pieces of their story from their first date and how they hit it off to Frankie’s proposal story. Being able to hear each couples love story is one of my favorite parts during an elopement and listening to them tell me how they fell in love. I am such a sucker for stories but romantic ones are the best! This particular elopement last November was a refreshing and energizing elopement during the start of winter for one of my favorite couples. Get ready to fall in love with an early winter elopement under the Tetons!
Planning the Elopement
When Brooklyn and I first spoke over the phone we started chatting it up right away during our initial phone call. She had found me on Instagram and we were soon planning out their Wyoming elopement. The first steps for us was to decide on a specific location and what they envisioned for their big day. They had decided to elope around the Jackson Hole,Wyoming and Grand Teton area but didn’t have a specific location or venue picked out. Because of this, I sent over several locations around Grand Teton National Park and Bridger Teton National Forest to see which might fit them the best. After going over a few options, Brooklyn and Frankie decided on having a their elopement at the Wedding Tree.
The First Look
While planning out their wedding, we chatted about a first look and if it was something they wanted. They said yes! And after seeing Frankies reaction to his beautiful bride, I am so glad they did! For the first look, we met up at The Lodge at Jackson Hole where they were staying. I am a huge fan of first looks. It is a great way to start off your elopement. Just check out these cuties and Frankie’s priceless expression at seeing his bride. The Lodge at Jackson Hole was a beautiful location with helpful staff too! We captured the first look by the pool which was quiet, cute, and private! I often do first looks at clients’ hotels so I show up early to scout out the locations and make certain the staff/hotel is ok with where we are going to be doing wedding pictures at.
Elopement at The Wedding Tree
Then we hit the road to the Wedding Tree in Bridger Teton National Forest. It is just outside of Jackson Hole. Having an elopement at the Wedding Tree is a great choice with it’s Teton views. It isn’t in Grand Teton National Park either so you can avoid the $200 fee and paperwork! I’m not certain how the Wedding Tree initially got the name but it is well known around Jackson Hole for its breathtaking views and easily accessible location. It actually has less restrictions for couples (for instance, your furry friends are able to join!) too since it isn’t in Grand Teton National Park. Brooklyn and Frankie’s wedding ceremony under the Wedding Trees was perfection. From an amazing pastor, beautiful views, and to his phone going off with music at the perfect moment, and loads of laughter…. It was the most special and intimate ceremony.
Sunset Elopement Photos
Once their ceremony at The Wedding Tree was over, we headed out for their sunset adventure photos around Grand Teton National Park! Our first stop was just down the road (literally) as we wanted some pretty road pictures of Brooklyn in her wedding dress along with Frankie and the Tetons in the backdrop.
Moulton Barns
A little farther down the road are the Moulton Barns. This is another popular destination for couples to have their pictures taken in front of! I love wedding photography with that historical and rustic Wyoming backdrop as do most couples.
Adventures around Grand Teton National Park
Lastly, we headed out to capture their sunset pictures at one of my favorite spots in Teton National Park. It is a little farther outside of Jackson but not as commonly photographed. You can see it has one of most beautiful Wyoming landscapes. You will often find buffalo here along with a field of horses too.
After the Moulton barns, I asked if they would be interested in a western backdrop with horses. Little did I know Brooklyn is a horse lover so she was totally on board! Her gorgeous flannel paired well to wear on top of her dress to kick up that western flair. I feel like it tied in perfectly with the colors of the Tetons and sunset over the mountains.
Sunset Photos
As the romance flared for their wedding pictures with the wild sage in the background we turned a little editorial in style here. I was obsessed with Brooklyn’s sultry portraits and Frankie wrapping his loving arms around her. We also had so many fun pictures with laughter and then people driving by would honk and we would all wave and laugh! I love that weddings brings everyone together ( even strangers) to celebrate a couple’s love. It is always so special (and I think good luck) when you see a couple after their wedding going out around town or having their pictures taken!
This picture perfect elopement in Jackson featured all the love and laughter we could muster, making it one of my 2020 favorites. If you also are in love with it and would like to see the full album, you can view it here! This is also a great way to see how you can have your album delivered if you choose Foxtails to capture your wedding day and celebrate your love while taking authentic, natural pictures from your wedding or elopement.
