How to plan your Jackson Hole Wedding or Elopement around Grand Teton National Park. This couple hired Foxtails photography and Elope Jackson to create a stress free and fun wedding experience under the tetons

Are you planning a wedding in Jackson Hole?

If so,  I am here to help and give you tips on planning a Jackson Hole wedding!

First, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement! I am so excited for you both and hope that you get to plan the wedding or elopement of your dreams!

Planning your wedding in Jackson Hole can be easy, fun, and stress free!

As many of my couples don’t live in or around Wyoming, they are often left to rely on a trusted team to help them plan and style their perfect wedding. Because of this, I wanted to help with giving you some of my most trusted vendors that I love to work with.

  • Hiring a Wyoming Wedding Planner
  • Booking a Wyoming Photographer
  • Teton Wedding Locations
  • Jackson Hole Wedding venues
  • Choosing a florist
  • Wedding Cakes and more

If you book me as your wedding photographer, I have an even more in depth guide I send my clients to not only help plan their wedding but also touch based more on vendors and tips.  These vendors not only help to make my couples life’s easier, but also to make my job more fun and creative as I trust them and know they have everything planned out while helping to create the best experience for my couples.

From wedding venues and  locations around Jackson Hole,  to planning out sweets and florals. There are a lot of aspects to consider and I hope this blog will walk you through vendors that might be right for you as well as give you some thoughts and helpful tips.

Hiring a Wyoming Wedding Planner

If you are planning to hire a wedding planner in Jackson Hole, this will probably be your first step. Not everyone has the budget to have a planner but if you do, they are a great help to couples and other wedding vendors! Often, they can help guide you through a lot of the additional choices, paying vendors, creating back up plans, and making certain your day runs as smoothly as possible. Even elopements can have planners as then the couple can truly relax and know that everything is taken care of so that they can focus on having fun!

There are many  planners that work or will travel to the Jackson area. I prefer to work with vendors established in the area, as there are lots of local changes and rules that go on around the national park. This is one area where a local planner can really help – they’ll help make sure that your big day goes off without any permitting issues or other surprises! Also, altitude sickness is no fun so having local vendors will ensure that you don’t have to worry about bringing in someone that might not do well in the altitude

A few planners I have worked with (or am looking forward to working with) locally are:

  • Elope Jackson: for your fun, carefree intimate elopements and weddings.  She only works with couples who plan to have fewer that 15 people and truly appreciates simplicity and the beauty of our mountain area.
  • Wild Rose: for destination elopements and weddings with a focus on sustainability. Ashley is such a wonderful planner serving all sizes of weddings & elopements!
  • In Any Event: for luxury weddings and knowledge to help you plan out your day with every detail in mind
  • Simply Grand Events
  • Lisa Mack Events

Booking a Wyoming Wedding Venue and Photographer

If you aren’t hiring a planner, then your venue or photographer will be your first vendor to book! Also, sometimes the photographer is the first vendor booked and then the venue/planner. It really is up to each couple so do what is best for you! When hiring your wedding photographer, I recommend interviewing 3 photographers so that you can choose the one whose photography style you love but also has a personality that will click with you and your fiancé. Budget of course comes into it as well so make certain to have your budget outlined also prior to chatting with your photographers. Teton Wedding Locations

Because we live in such an amazingly gorgeous area with National Parks & Forrests around the area, a lot of couples choose to get married in the park rather than a wedding venue. If you choose to do this, you do have to apply for a permit to get married in Grand Teton National Park. Find that here: https://www.nps.gov/grte/planyourvisit/weddings.htm

It’s a great option  as the permit is only $200 so you can  save on your venue budget and place more into other vendors or your honeymoon!

While the park has countless locations to hike to or have a ceremony at, there are a few popular locations that couples LOVE in the Teton National park:

  • Moulton Barns

  • Cascade Canyon

  • Jenny Lake

  • Schwabachers landing

There are also locations in the Bridger Teton National Forest such as The Wedding Tree or Shadow Mountain. These are great locations for your wedding ceremony that don’t have as many restrictions as Grand Teton National Park. They still have beautiful views and easy access for an intimate wedding or elopement.

There is a permit required for The Wedding Tree if you have over 75 people there, and they do ask that you let them know your wedding date so that they can add it to their calendar. Super helpful so that two couples don’t try to get married at the same time and place! https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/btnf/passes-permits/?cid=fseprd612351

Jackson Hole Wedding venues

If you decide that you would rather have your ceremony and/or reception at a venue around Jackson Hole, the options are endless!

Here are a few of my favorites:

Choosing a Florist in Jackson Hole

A wedding is always more beautiful with some beautiful and fragrant florals or greenery! From your bridal bouquet to the ceremony and reception flowers, your wedding florals should be everything you have dreamed of!

Foxtails also does florals for elopement & intimate weddings of fewer than 20 people. If you are looking at having Foxtails do your wedding or elopement photography, you can ask more about florals too. I always recommend to interview multiple vendors so even if you are interested in having Foxtails do your florals, it is good to chat with other vendors and see which florist can fit your needs!

Here are some local florists that I love, trust and highly recommend:

Wedding Cakes + More in Jackson Hole

Lastly, let’s talk sweets!

Lady in the Wild West is one of my ultimate favorite bakers! Her designs are not only unique but also delicious!

Butter Cream Design also creates beautiful sweets and even macarons! They not only serve the Jackson area but also nationwide!

Jackson Cake CO.  makes not only beautiful cakes but delicious and unique cupcakes too!

If you are envisioning beautiful florals for your cake, Yuka of Wilson Custom Cakes talent exceeds any one else in the area with real life, edible flowers for your wedding cake. Her detail is fine and luxurious for a gorgeous cake!

While I try to place as much as possible in this while not being too lengthy, I have much more I can chat with you about to make certain that your wedding day is special and illustrated with enduring photography. My wedding photography is natural, raw, and illuminated in golden light. If you are someone that prefers the candid moments and attention to detail along with wanting a photographer who  will help make your wedding fun and relaxed, then I might be the right fit for you!

I hope this helps you plan your Jackson Hole Wedding, and I would love to hear from you to chat more about your wedding.

about the artist

I'm Kayla

A red dirt girl from Oklahoma turned mountain woman with a camera in tow. I have a finesse for fine art in the West and over the years have built a legendary business that encompasses wild landscapes and romance among the mountains.

This was all born from a love of old westerns and my dad’s dream of moving out West. Which I did, 17 years ago, as I settled under the Big Horn Mountains in Northern Wyoming. From there I’ve adventured all across the west, hiking miles of trails among our vast public lands and living out my John Wayne era.

My love of photography has grown from digital to film and videography. These are the mediums of my art and there is beauty within each. While photography is a still moment, an emotion held… videography is the voice, the sound of that emotion, from the tears in a voice to the elk bugling in the background. This audible energy of your day will bring you right back.
