Jackson Hole Elopements

Sellah and Austin’s Grand Teton Elopement

August 14, 2026

A Three Hour, Grand Teton Elopement in October

I shoot weddings all year but fall is what I look forward to the most!

Part of it is the light, part the fresh snow on the Tetons and how the blue mountains pop against the golden grasses. Truly the PEREFCT time of year for a Grand Teton elopement in Jackson Hole!

Octobers out here are crisp, colorful, and a slowness that you learn to crave. Having a lot less tourists around, the elk all in rut, and a crackling fire makes it a romantic time of year to explore Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone!

Elopement Ceremony at Blacktail Ponds

We started at Blacktail Ponds Overlook which is one of my favorite locations.

Sellah wore a lace, A line gown with a long veil while Austin sported a black suit and cowboy hat with boots. I realy LOVED how intentional they were for their elopement and wanted to keep everything simple and fun while allowing me to have full creative freedom. At one point, Sellah told me they’ll do what I want and are my muse which was what every photographer wants to hear! It just allows use to create our best work and not be constrained to a timeline or a Pinterest board.

My favorite accessory for Sellah was her bouquet tied with a bandana. Such a fun and creative piece that can be used forever.

Their officiant was a good friend and stood before them as they laughed through most of their ceremony. It was honestly perfect. Having someone who knows them so well as they declare their love while the clouds sat a little lower across the range, breaking just enough to show the summits.

Elegant Western, Kept Simple

Their whole look was western without being a costume, which is a harder line to walk than people think.

Sellah kept her veil in till the end of their elopement where she pulled in a felt, wide brim hat. Austin never taking his off and boots on both of them. The Tetons are already doing plenty on their own and paired in with what Sellah and Austin wore looked like it belonged here without competing with the landscape, and that’s the balance I’m always chasing on these.

Cottonwood Creek

Cottonwood Creek was tout second stop! It’s another favorite location and sometimes the horses are even out

We had some fun in the field here and utilized the fence for portraits which LOOOOOVVED!

String Lake

After Cottonwood Creek, we headed over to String lake for a few portaits!

Mormon Row

We finished at Mormon Row. A little farther out to avoid the crowds but still have the views and golden light.

Here we have a bit more fun with a little flash and movement.

about the artist

I'm Kayla

A red dirt girl from Oklahoma turned mountain woman with a camera in tow. I have a finesse for fine art in the West and over the years have built a legendary business that encompasses wild landscapes and romance among the mountains.

My love of photography has grown from digital to film. With my dad's old Minolta and vintage  film cameras I've picked up over the years, I use these to photograph my couples in an enduring medium that I adore.

Photography is a still moment, an emotion held forever. To look at and bring us right back to the moment. To remind us  how we felt,  of those we love, and something we cherish and pass down over generations.
