Jackson Hole Proposal
Some sessions stay with me long after the film comes back from the lab, and Lucas and Abbey’s Grand Teton National Park proposal is one of them.
These two first met as juniors in high school. Eight years together and Lucas knew Jackson Hole was the perfect place to Propose! I loved getting to help him plan the moment he would ask Abbey to marry him. We wanted to make sure we had the most iconic location for it!

The Proposal
The only question that morning was whether the weather would cooperate. We had been stressing over the forecast, but it started to shape up and we were so lucky when the sun broke through! Giving us every bit of light we had hoped for!
We chose a beautiful spot in Grand Teton National Park near Leigh Lake for the big moment. I sent location details and a video explaining the area, where to park, and where I was going to be hiding.
When the time came, Lucas got down on one knee on a little wooden bridge tucked into the trees with the Tetons behind them. As you can see, Abbey said yes and I’ll let these photographs tell the rest of the story.

I photographed their day on a mix of film and digital. Honestly, the film scans are some of my favorite frames I have made all year.
After we took photographs on the bridge, we hopped into the wildflower fields across the trail. I really loved the blue skies and how fun these engagement portraits turned out.

Cascade Canyon
After the yes, we frolicked in the grassy fields, soaking up every bit of the sunshine we had been stressing over all week.

Windy Point
Afterwards, we wrapped up at Windy Point and ran well past our scheduled time. The light and the energy were too good to cut short. Finally, Abbey changed into the prettiest white dress for the last of the sun, and it was the perfect ending.

Congratulations, Lucas and Abbey. I am so dang happy for you two.
